Amraphel,...> And it came to pass in the days of

Amraphel, Arioch, Chedorlaomer and Tidal? Who are these now?

> And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and

Let's see if I've got this straight... Cheddarlamer is a great king who has some slaves and some kingly neighbours who are not quite as great. The slaves revolt. It takes Cheddarlamer a year to quell the revolt and when he's done that he goes out and quells some more, just for the look of the thing. Then these other kings get together and decide they've had enough of the quelling and Cheddarlamer needs a thorough thrashing to set him straight. But Cheddarlamer is stronger and beats them anyway.

> And the vale of Siddim was full of slime pits

Excellent! Let's build some more Heaven-towers! What is a slime pit?

> Abram the Hebrew

Who?

> On the left as thou goest where?

Mayhap as thou goest as Abram the Hebrew?

> somehow been transformed from Abram's nephew into his brother

Some inbreeding here to be sure.

> the slaughter of Chedorlaomer

Finally, someone killed this warhawk bamstick. Peace reigns.

> More polytheism?

This LORD does seem quite capricious, perhaps the other gods keep him in check.

> Melchizedek blesses the most high God too.

Later, Melchizedek prayed for water to be wet and slime to be a good building material.

> even to a shoelatchet

Sounds like a Christian newspaper, "The Shoelatchet."

> Abram recognises the LORD as the most high God but does not seem concerned that there may be others

I wonder... is it a good idea to upset any god? Perhaps praise the "most high" god but also give general thanks to any other gods who might be hanging around listening?
Fatmanhttp://dreamtrack.co.uk/noreply@blogger.com
